A tour of Nardinclant?
Step into a living painting. The garden of Nardinclant is not something you look at; it is something you experience. You are welcome to take a garden walk or book a garden tour with guide and historical researcher Peter Prinssen!
If you book a guided tour, Peter Prinssen will take you on a journey through the rich history of Nardinclant Estate. He will tell you about Leonard Springer's extraordinary garden architecture, the significance of the garden in its historical context and the relationship between, for example, the Nardinc Collection and Nardinc Hall and Nardinclant, and the Gooi and Amsterdam.
Walk with us!
Peter Prinssen will give a talk on:
1. The Nardinclant estate and the garden design and designer Leonard Springer.
2. The special importance of this garden.
3. Garden history (plants and borders and the present flora and fauna)
4. Historical context of 't Gooi and its relation to Amsterdam.
There is room for discussion. For example: is the reward the completed garden or its creation? Is the garden merely an aesthetic experience, or is it the experience itself? Is this a living painting you walk past and look at, like some kind of beautiful billboard?
The garden design is classified as the Decorative Style. Within this context, the walk through the garden is like a story; the routes tell a story. The story reveals itself by walking from one part of the garden to another. Our head gardener and designer Sjoerd Weiller will be firmly at work in the garden and ready to answer your questions.
